Well, it's been a while since I've actually written something here. The last time I posted something that wasn't a video/picture/link was over a year ago. I'm not even sure anyone reads this anymore. I was looking back at some of my old posts and I've realized that a lot has changed. I'm now in my second year of college and I have no idea where the first one went. I've been trying to apply my HS work ethic here and it hasn't been very effective. I live in a three bedroom apartment style dorm with five other guys. I've worked two summers as an intern for the youth group and both summers were very different but both very rewarding. I've been to Guatemala and can't wait to go back. I still find myself unable to figure a major to declare. Sort of running out of time to figure it out. I've been thinking about computer science for a while now. We'll see what happens. The church is going through a major transition right now and it doesn't seem like it's being handled very well. It's frustrating. Nothing is getting done. Things are so much more complicated than they used to be. I just wish everything could go back to being plain and simple again. But that's not going to happen so I'm just going to have to deal with it.

Anyway, I'm tired and that's enough for tonight.

I hope to use this more often. We'll see.

Today in church an elderly woman's cellphone went off in the middle of church. One she and made it stop it went of again. This made Steve stop in the middle of his sermon and it distracted everyone in the congregation. But it made me think of a great new way to serve the senior citizens in our church. As you enter the Narthex, there would be a booth with a teenager standing behind it. Anyone who doesn't know how to turn their cellphone to silent mode could take their phone to that booth and the teenager would do it for them. After the service, he/she could be there again to turn it back on ringer so it didn't confuse people during the week.

So today I took my brother's dentist appointment because he's sick and I had one in a couple weeks anyway. So I go sit down in the chair and I'm handed the remote for the small flat-screen TV. Not having cable, I have no idea what's on so I go to the TV guide channel and there's this weird thing on about what I think was a vampire, but a really lame TV series about one. So as the shows are scrolling up across the screen I see that there's a double-header of Scrubs on which would be just enough time to get through the appointment. As the oral hygienist is getting ready I notice her pausing to watch the show now and again. This makes me worry that she may glance over to it while scraping away at my teeth and slip gouging a small hole in my gums causing them to bleed profusely, but enough of that. While she was scraping away it seemed like it took a very very very very very long time. Then when it was time for the fluoride she didn't quite get the whole thing in my mouth. The dentist office recently got some new technology for their x-rays, their now digital and they send them straight to a computer, which they then show you on the TV and the end of the appointment, not that it makes any sense when you see it, you just nod and agree to what ever the Dentist is telling you. But as it turns out, I am definitely having my wisdom teeth pulled this summer. *Oh Boy!*

Slot loading disc drives don't take mini-disks.

PCs don't register a mouse and keyboard unless they are plugged in before they are turned on.

The disk drives on our PC do not work at all.

Downloading drivers is a pain in the rear.

Software originally meant for PC's but put to OSX is not easy to use.

Files are not easy to find when you don't know what they're titled.

Always be sure to upload your photos before clicking "order prints" on the longs website or you will lose your files and have to find them again.

Tonight is not my night for computers.

After watching the Lion King on the plane, I was inspired to point out all the mistakes Scar made in being an evil overlord.

8. Rule #115: I will not engage an enemy single-handedly until all my soldiers are dead.

9. Rule #173: Although it would provide amusement, I will not confess to the hero's rival that I was the one who committed the heinous act for which he blames the hero. (So it wasn't actually Simba's rival, but it's close enough).

10. Rule #196: I will hire an expert marksman to stand by the entrance to my fortress. His job will be to shoot anyone who rides up to challenge me. (I know there were no guns but something should have been done to stop Simba from getting all the way to Pride Rock).

Yesterday was Brad's 18th birthday party so I was at his grandparents house. He had to go back to his house because he needed to find a phone number. Another one of his friends decided to ride along. After not getting very far a car goes speeding past us in the other direction and all of a sudden there is a loud bang. I stopped and looked in the rear veiw mirror and saw that the car had slammed into a parked van. I was in such shock I had no idea what to do. Brad and Ryan both said to go back so I flipped a U-y and parked on the side of the road. The guy in the car looked really shooken up. He was able to call 911 though. He wasn't seriously injured. The guy who owned the van was upset at first, but eventualy he was just glad the guy in the car was ok. When the police showed up we told him what we saw but it wasn't enough to know exactly how it happened. The guy who owned the van was very appreciative to us for staying around as witnesses.

Now for the ironic part. Later that evening we went and watched Transformers. Where there were cars beating up other cars.

Oh the irony.

My brain was completely turned off today. After playing at the Riverbank HS graduation, the band director treated everyone to pizza at Mountain Mikes. They wanted to get Dell computers so my mom refered them to Chris Currie who is now working on getting them the computers. My mom says that it's cool that Chris was able to help them out like that.
